I've been driven to create for nearly 30 years. I'm finally asking why...

All that time spent telling other people's stories. Now I'm turning the camera on my life - and figuring out what I'm actually chasing.

Making stuff is a job?

That's me at 14, with a camcorder the size of a small horse. I'd just discovered people made things for a living — that "creating" was a job you could actually have — and I couldn't believe it. I've been chasing that feeling ever since. If you know it — you're not the only one.

One day in 1985 - I watched the making of Indian Jones and the Temple of Doom. That was the moment I saw people creating the moments that had enthralled me. It lit the fire that has kept me creating and learning. My Dad had just bought a JVC VHS camcorder - and that was it. A camera has been in my hand ever since.

This is where the notes turn into films. Stories about the work, the craft, and the question I can't shake — why we chase the things we chase, and whether the chase was ever a waste.

My online blog about this journey.

These "notes" are my daily diary on this new project. They are often the first rough sketch of an idea for a video.
